About Otherkin.net
What is Otherkin.net?
Otherkin.net is a community platform for the otherkin, therian, and fictionkin communities — people who identify as non-human in some spiritual, psychological, or metaphysical sense. Whether you identify as a dragon, wolf, fae, fictional character, or something else entirely, this is a space built for you. The platform provides forums, personal journals, groups, events, and other tools for community building, self-expression, and mutual support.
Who is this for?
This platform is for otherkin, therians, fictionkin, and adjacent communities — including those who are questioning, newly exploring their identity, or long-established members of the broader non-human identity community. We aim to be a welcoming space for the full spectrum of non-human and otherhearted identities, grounded in respectful community norms and thoughtful moderation.
History
Otherkin.net has been a part of the otherkin community for many years. The current platform is a ground-up rebuild of the previous WordPress and BuddyPress site, designed to better serve the community's needs with modern social features, improved performance, and tools purpose-built for this space rather than adapted from generic blogging software.
Sister Projects
Otherkin.net is part of a small family of community resources:
- AnOtherWiki — a community wiki covering otherkin history, terminology, and lore. A collaborative reference for the broader community.
- Discord — for real-time conversation, the Otherkin.net community maintains a Discord server. Look for the invite link in community posts or ask a member for details.
The platform is run by Jarin, a long-time member of the otherkin community. If you have questions, feedback, or concerns, the on-site feedback form or the admin contact are the best ways to reach out.
