"Otherkin" is still a good term to describe a person who, on the deepest level, realized they are more than what they seem to be right now. A departure from the basic survival needs and behavioral models. I know that some people misuse the term or try to make it into a medal to wear, but so far I myself didn't find a better word to describe that state of discovery when you realize there's more to life and the world around you than what everybody is saying it is supposed to be.

It is true that this life is different. But remembering allows us to see (and feel) the difference between now and then, and through this, perhaps, be less angry with the world, because we come to understand that we, too, used to be that kind of bastard that pesters us today. Knowing how bad people work from within, we can be smarter about our current challenges in life. I do agree, though, that in the beginning the past life memory can totally overwhelm you. The understanding comes with time, and it is important to at least have a good friend who will pull you out of your deep, dark memories.

In my view, an otherkin is a person who remembered a non-human incarnation and used it as a comfort zone. Sometimes it's the only way to stay sane. The world can be very overwhelming and when there is no other place to go, we turn to our inner being. In my case, I've gone through some serious stress at work and that triggered radical changes in me, including the influx of memories from seemingly nowhere... and many, many very realistic dreams.

I'm glad and grateful that this website exists. I used to be in other places, mostly briefly, because no one there wanted to put into question their chosen identities. They just want to believe something and they hate it when others question their choices. I hope I can find a lot of interesting information on the topic of reincarnation here and share some of my own discoveries with like-minded people!
